About the Company
Our client is a locally owned engineering business that supports underground mining operations across NSW and Queensland. With a workshop based in the Hunter and a reputation for delivering high-quality overhaul and hydraulic solutions, they work closely with OEMs and mine sites to keep equipment moving. Their approach is hands-on, practical, and built around reliability, safety, and fast turnaround times.
About the Role
As the Projects and Planning Coordinator (Overhauls Coordinator), you'll take ownership of end-to-end workshop coordination for mechanical and hydraulic overhauls. This isn’t just scheduling — it's a varied and requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting. You’ll collaborate across internal teams, suppliers, and customers to keep overhauls running smoothly, all while juggling priorities and tracking job progress.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the delivery of mechanical and hydraulic overhauls within the workshop
Manage customer requirements from quotation through to completion
Source and organise documentation, parts, scopes, and supplier pricing
Raise and manage work orders, purchase orders, and parts requisitions
Liaise with internal teams, supervisors, and customers on progress and changes
Track parts and supplier deliveries to ensure on-time execution
Maintain WIP registers and support timely, accurate invoicing
Manage warranty and service claims
Identify and implement process improvements that lift delivery and quality
Ensure a safe and compliant working environment
Your Skills & Experience
Strong experience coordinating workshop-based projects, ideally in mining or heavy industry
Aptitude for learning mechanical components, hydraulic systems, or service/repair workflows
Background in work order management, or WIP tracking
Skilled in managing purchase orders, quotes, and supplier relationships
Confident communicator, able to manage stakeholders across customers, workshop teams, and suppliers
Comfortable with systems (SAP, Smartsheets, Excel or similar platforms)
Detail-oriented, well-organised, and able to prioritise under pressure
Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar would be highly regarded
