About the opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Finance Manager is responsible for providing financial reporting and cash flow management to the organisation, including:

  • General ledger maintenance & processing

  • Banking & bank reconciliations

  • Month-end reporting and analysis

  • Accounts payable processing & payments

  • GST & BAS returns; payroll tax returns; company tax

  • Payroll processing & payment – processing; PAYG withholding tax; leave entitlements; superannuation

As the leader of the small finance team of 2, you will coordinate workflow, build the capability of the team and identify new ways of working to gain efficiency where it will add value to the organisation. 

The position is offered as a 24 hour per week permanent part-time position which can be performed across 3 to 5 days. 

About you
You will be naturally inquisitive by nature and keen to partner with business operations to ensure finance is recognized as an important business partner.

Ideally you will have experience in end-to-end finance management in an SME environment, and have also spent time in your career working in larger organisations.  Additional skills and experience we are seeking include:

  • 5 years minimum experience in a similar role

  • Formal qualifications/education in accounting

  • Small finance team management capability

  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with a positive attitude

Experience working in an RTO environment or a sector where government funding and reporting is required would be considered favourable.
