About the role
An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Communications & Engagement Lead to join a forward-thinking organisation committed to sustainability and meaningful stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Manager Sustainability and offered as an 18-month fixed term contract to cover paternity leave, this role is critical in developing and delivering effective communication and engagement strategies. You’ll enhance the organisation’s brand reputation, oversee the creation of high-quality content, and proactively build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The Executive Team is based from the same location as this position which provides you with access to key decision makers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute targeted communication and stakeholder engagement material.
Support external relations to ensure alignment between stakeholder expectations and internal objectives.
Lead community engagement programs to enhance the organisation’s reputation and social licence to operate.
Manage a range of communication tools, including social media, newsletters, and sustainability reporting.
Handle media enquiries and develop positive news stories to promote organisational achievements.
Represent the organisation at community forums, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Provide communication support during incidents, acting as the media liaison where necessary.
Qualifications & Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, with a strong emphasis on enhancing business-wide capabilities in this area.
Significant experience in communications, marketing, or media roles, with knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues.
Proven experience in media management, including issues and crisis management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.
Proficiency in digital media, content management systems, and analytics tools.
