About the Opportunity
HMRI is looking for a Community Fundraising Specialist to strengthen relationships with key community supporters and drive engagement in fundraising initiatives. This role is perfect for someone passionate about fostering community involvement, managing volunteers, and leading grassroots fundraising efforts. You’ll play a pivotal role in increasing awareness and support for HMRI’s mission through community-based events and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, including donors, volunteers, and fundraising groups
Act as the primary fundraising liaison for external fundraisers, community groups, and volunteer committees
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support fundraising campaigns and philanthropy activities
Plan and execute community-based fundraising events, collaborating with the Events Specialist on logistics and sponsorships
Manage the external fundraiser application and approval process to ensure compliance with charitable guidelines
Represent HMRI at community meetings and public events, raising awareness of its mission
Work closely with marketing and other teams to develop materials and strategies that support fundraising efforts
About you
You will bring
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with diverse community groups
Experience in event planning and grassroots fundraising initiatives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking experience
Proven ability to manage and engage volunteers effectively
Strong organisational and project management skills to juggle multiple initiatives
An understanding of fundraising guidelines and compliance requirements
