About the Company
Our client is a specialist engineering and manufacturing company providing fluid power and handling solutions for underground mining. They design and supply hydraulic power systems and transport solutions, supporting critical mining operations with innovative, custom-engineered systems. Known for their reliability and efficiency, they play a key role in enhancing safety and productivity across major mining and industrial projects in NSW and Central Queensland.
About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity for an experienced Engineering Lead to take charge of a team of engineers and quality assurance professionals. You’ll be responsible for leading the engineering function, driving product development, improving design efficiency, and ensuring technical excellence in fluid power solutions. This role will suit someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys seeing projects through from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop an engineering team.
Oversee the design and development of hydraulic power systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO9001.
Manage projects from concept to implementation, meeting deadlines.
Drive process improvements in design, manufacturing, and quality.
Provide technical expertise in hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
Work with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders on tailored solutions.
Review and approve engineering documents and technical reports.
About You
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Extensive experience in hydraulic engineering, fluid power systems, or heavy machinery.
Proven leadership with experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.
Strong project management skills, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines.
Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to engage clients and stakeholders to drive innovation and develop custom solutions.
Experience in underground mining is preferred but not essential.
