About the Opportunity
HMRI is seeking a driven and strategic Head of Development to lead and grow its fundraising efforts. This is a pivotal role within the organisation, responsible for shaping and implementing high-impact fundraising strategies to drive sustainable revenue and support HMRI’s mission.
Reporting to the Chief Research Partnerships Officer, the Head of Development will build and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, and philanthropic entities, ensuring effective engagement and long-term financial success.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Develop and execute high-value fundraising initiatives, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement strategies.
Identify and cultivate relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organisations.
Lead and manage the Development team to enhance fundraising capabilities and revenue growth.
Oversee donor stewardship and engagement, ensuring a meaningful and sustainable donor experience.
Drive grant and bid development, working collaboratively to secure funding opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Marketing and Research Partnerships, to align fundraising efforts with HMRI’s strategic vision.
About you
You will bring;
Demonstrated experience in major gift fundraising, corporate partnerships, or philanthropy within a complex organisation.
Proven track record in developing and executing revenue growth strategies in a mission-driven environment.
Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to engage high-net-worth individuals and corporate stakeholders.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on performance and growth.
High-level analytical skills to monitor trends and measure fundraising success.
