Based in the Port Stephens area and hybrid working options

This is an excellent opportunity to consolidate and grow your Generalist HR skills and experience within a Community Focused Not for Profit. Working closely with the People & Culture Executive Manager and the HR Business Partner, you will be integral in managing day-to-day HR processes, providing support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, employee retention, learning and development & compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
First point of contact for HR queries and support.
Assist managers to handle misconduct and policy breaches, absenteeism, employment contracts and legislative compliance.
Work with managers to coach and empower them to have difficult performance related conversations with staff.
Prepare documents related to performance and grievance issues.
Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Respond to complaints, conduct internal investigations and provide advice to managers, communicate with union representatives.
Conduct exit interviews, manage probation and performance review processes.
Essential Criteria:
HR qualification or experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated understanding of the Fair Work Act as well as sound knowledge of Awards/Agreements and HR practices.
Proficient in MS Suite
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work at pace with strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
