About the opportunity
Based on-site in Tomago, this part-time Payroll Specialist is offered as an8-month parental leave contract, with the potential to extend. This role offers flexibility with a preferred schedule ofthree days per week (Tuesday to Thursday)or24 hours across four days (Monday to Thursday).
As the Payroll Specialist, you will play a vital role in the end-to-end payroll process, supporting the finance and HR teams while fostering strong professional relationships with internal stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing payroll functions with accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll cycles.
Associated payroll tasks including adjustments, deductions, reports, superannuation, and tax reconciliations & lodgements.
Assisting managers and providing advice and support regarding payroll.
Support employees with payroll enquiries.
Assist in the implementation of any legislative updates, changes, or amendments to awards and workplace legislation.
Assist in ensuring a system of continuous improvement in business processes.
Assist the Human Resource and finance teams where required.

About you
Along with proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, the successful candidate will thrive in a team environment, possess strong communication skills, and enjoy the challenge of meeting deadlines while delivering high-quality work. You will also bring:
Experience with HRIS and accounting software.
Knowledge of payroll legislation and rules.
Ability to interpret modern awards, fair work legislation, and enterprise agreements.
Exceptional proficiency in MS Office suite of applications.
Experience with the Kronos system is desirable but not essential.
