About the Opportunity
HMRI is seeking a Prospect Research Specialist to support its fundraising efforts by identifying and analysing potential donors, corporations, and philanthropic foundations. This role plays a key part in helping HMRI prioritise and target the right prospects to maximise donor engagement and financial contributions.
Reporting to the Chief Research Partnerships Officer, the Prospect Research Specialist will use a data-driven approach to assess donor capacity, philanthropic interests, and giving potential. By leveraging research tools and CRM systems, they will provide valuable insights to fundraising teams, ensuring HMRI focuses its efforts on the most promising opportunities.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Research and profile potential donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Analyse wealth indicators, philanthropic interests, and giving history to assess fundraising potential.
Maintain and manage donor databases and CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Dynamics).
Monitor trends in philanthropic giving and provide insights to enhance fundraising strategies.
Collaborate with fundraisers to prioritise and target high-value prospects.
Prepare briefing documents to support leadership in donor meetings and fundraising initiatives.
Ensure compliance and due diligence, mitigating reputational risks in donor engagement.
About you
You will bring;
Strong research and data analysis skills, with experience in prospect research or donor analytics.
Familiarity with CRM software and wealth screening tools to track and manage donor information.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess financial capacity.
Strong report writing and communication skills to present findings clearly.
Ability to work collaboratively with fundraisers and leadership teams.
