About the opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, the Sales Manager will lead, mentor and motivate the team of Account Managers to achieve individual and team sales goals. The Sales Manager will be accountable for developing and implementing effective business development strategies and objectives to drive gross profit. With a strong focus on authenticity and integrity, you will ensure you and your team are building positive relationships with all customers.
Other key responsibilities:
- Drive a safety-first culture, lead by example, and ensure the team are demonstrating safe work practices.
- In collaboration with the CEO develop and implement strategies to grow the gross profitability of the business through increased sales, improved margin, and increased customer retention and referrals.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, providing regular feedback and ensuring the team adheres to agreed sales and business development processes.
- Identify significant new sales opportunities, develop and execute sales strategies to win the opportunities with your team.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Marketing, Estimating, Category Management to drive sales strategies and align them to company’s objectives.

The successful candidate will ideally have worked with trade customers and have 5 years’ experience in a similar management role with a commitment to people, safety and have a genuine passion for customer care and experience. With strong leadership and influencing skills, you will foster a positive team culture, resulting in a dependable and engaged team.
In addition we are looking for:
- A proven track record of successfully leading a sales team and developing and implementing a sales strategy. Demonstrated contribution to growth within a business will be key.
- A strong, emotionally intelligent communicator - whether you’re pitching ideas, guiding your team, or building trusted client relationships, you will be clear in your communication and able to motivate and influence.
- A strategic thinker who balances big-picture vision with attention to detail, making thoughtful, data-driven decisions grounded in integrity and trust.
- You're all about people, performance, and purpose and you lead your team with energy, integrity and honesty.
- Experience or knowledge of the building process and being able to communicate it with confidence is highly regarded.
