About the role

This senior role is responsible for providing professional technical mechanical engineering support to ensure the plant availability and efficiency of this facility is optimised. You will lead and mentor a team of Engineers to maintain standards, current and future plant condition and provide continuous improvement, within an environment of inclusiveness and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering advice and support to ensure reliable plant operations and compliance to standards, regulations and procedures.

  • Provide technical guidance to the Asset Management systems that inform the asset maintenance strategies.

  • Support with engineering solutions during complex mechanical breakdowns.

  • Provide technical expertise in areas including design, load & capacity assessment and part selection.

  • Complete technical report, drawings, calculations and investigations.

  • Provide continuous improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Write and present reports and associated engineering documentation.

  • Experience in heavy industry, with specific exposure to belt conveying, rail and hydraulics highly desirable.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree.

  • Experience in heavy industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management.

  • Demonstrated commitment and proven track record of safety management.

  • Experience in computerised maintenance management systems and other technically oriented computer-based applications.

  • Hydraulics, rail and exposure to large dynamic machinery is highly desirable.
