We launched the Elevate Event Series in March 2024 with the goal of bringing together members of our community for engaging and informative industry events. Our aim is to provide insights from leaders in their fields, while fostering an environment that encourages open discussion and learning, insights that can be directly applied to everyday business practices.

Then, in October 2024, we had the privilege of meeting Jacky Morgan, who led a thought-provoking session with our team on creating a neuro-inclusive culture. As a business that is all about people, it was immediately clear that Jacky’s insights needed to be shared with a broader audience. Our next Elevate Event was locked in.

On Thursday 20th of March 2025, we were able to showcase the brilliance of Jacky in our third Elevate event 'Creating a Neuro-Inclusive Culture'. Jacky engaged the room filled with leading industry partners and companies of the Hunter, through her captivating showcase of neuro-divergence brilliance.

The concept that neurodivergence fosters innovation and productivity was brought to life through engaging discussions and shared experiences during the event. These conversations illuminated the reality of inclusive cultures in companies, and highlighted the positive impact of neuro-inclusive cultures on the workplace. The natural flow of ideas and experiences reflected the power of Jacky's moving work.

Attendees’ responses and participation throughout the presentation signalled a promising future for neurodivergent inclusion in our community’s workplaces. Below are just some of the key themes that emerged from Jacky's presentation:

  • Neurodiversity is as essential as biodiversity: Just as biodiversity is crucial to the survival of ecosystems, the diverse cognitive variations of individuals contribute unique strengths to the collective. Like a field of flowers needing specific nourishment, people with diverse neurological makeups require tailored support to thrive. It’s these differences that allow our world to grow and evolve.

  • "Culture fit" often hides bias: Focusing on "culture fit" can inadvertently perpetuate conformity and bias. Instead, companies should foster environments where all employees can thrive, regardless of background or differences. This shift towards inclusivity promotes a wider range of ideas and drives innovation.

  • With difference comes brilliance: Rather than focusing on limitations, Jacky encouraged the audience to recognise and celebrate the untapped potential and brilliance that differences bring.

These ideas are just a glimpse of the powerful and passionate work Jacky delivers through her coaching and presentations. If you’re looking to deepen your leadership in the neurodiversity space, we highly recommend visiting Jacky's website to explore her leadership and coaching offerings.

At peoplefusion, we believe that people are at the heart of every organisation. Embracing their differences allows them to flourish. That’s why we connect candidates who will thrive in existing teams while helping to build collaborative, inclusive cultures.

The future of the Elevate Event Series is bright, and we’re excited to continue hosting events that spark impactful conversations, contributing to the growth of the Hunter Region. Watch this space!

A special thank you to the talented Emily Goldman for capturing the essence of the event, and to all attendees for their inspiring contributions.
